About the Egg Group

Egg is a dynamic design and build company with an extensive project portfolio encompassing everything from residential refurbishment to large-scale leisure and hotel commissions. We offer a complete suite of professional services honed by experience and executed using the latest systems and techniques.

At the centre of every project is the client. We devote our energy, experience and creativity to making work that reflects the client’s aspirations, and we put service at the heart of everything that we do. To ensure our full commitment every time, each project is personally supervised by a Board Director.

We know that communication is key. We keep clients fully informed during the life of the project and welcome their input and enquiries at any time, on any subject.

Because unless we know what a client’s expectations are, we cannot exceed them.

Our History

Born in 1985, when John Waites took over the family building business at the age of 21. John had already proved himself on the building site; within five years he had also proved himself in the boardroom by building up a healthy client portfolio of blue-chip City companies.

Waites founded the successful fit-out company City Interiors in the 1990s and recently brought it into the Egg Group, turning the firm into a versatile full-service design and build working as an ‘one stop shop’ providing first-class interiors and construction throughout the UK. Egg is now moving to the next level, with turnover increasing significantly in the last few years and a new organisational structure in place, bringing the resources and resilience necessary to take on bigger clients.

Big enough to offer a full range of professional services but small enough to be hands-on and employ their own on-site workforce. Egg’s management team offer a unique mix of expertise from both trade and corporate backgrounds. Egg is a family, made up of genuine family members and long-term friends, and it welcomes its clients as family, too. Our staff like to stick around, and so do our customers.

Why Choose Egg?

We are often asked why our company name is Egg. As our design and build company was evolving, we realised we needed a fresh brand and company name.

Why Egg?

Well, we thought that the egg, while simple, is a naturally beautiful structure inside and out. An egg provides housing and a sympathetic environment to all kinds of creatures during a vulnerable period of their development.

The egg is also the perfect example of sustainability. Eggs are flexible and inflexible. Eggs nurture life. Eggs come in all colours, shapes, sizes and textures. Their shape can be affected by their environment. They are strong.

Eggs are serious but cute.

What came first?

The egg, of course.

That’s why.

Egg Group comprises companies operating in the construction, refurbishment, interiors and property markets and has been active since 1985.

We have developed a reputation for exceptional client service by appointing a construction management philosophy, which puts our clients at the centre of all our projects. We have an overriding passion for quality in our delivery.

Our specialisms include, residential build and refurbishment, commercial office, hotel, leisure and healthcare renovation and interior fitout projects. In addition, we are experienced in the delivery of national rollout programmes for both public and private sector organisations which are upgrading or rebranding their property portfolios.

Our contracts are generated by developing and maintaining supportive relationships with our customers and exceeding their expectations, resulting in many of them returning to us again and again.

We are dedicated to the continuous development of our in-house design team and supply-chain partners and to delivery skills, enabling us to complete superior products in challenging timescales.

The Group has a clear strategy for controlled growth, founded on achieving client loyalty and by being an exciting company to work for, where we put our people first.

Your team's same-day response was truly commendable. It demonstrated your dedication to your clients and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
Andrew Smith, Learning Pathways Academy Trust
You gentlemen did a fantastic job...Clearly a great deal of planning was involved to get it out of its old home and on its way to his new one and you nailed it!
Lucy Cowley, Banksy Preservation Society
Having known and worked with the Egg group in the past I knew we were in good hands and had no doubt to trust them with the build of our first bricks and mortar site for our fresh pasta concept “La Nonna”. The whole building project seemed seamless as they were quick and efficient from the start constantly advising us on the multiple building elements of the process. From the design process with Jamie Sirett to the finishing touches I cannot fault anything as they delivered the build within our time parameters and went beyond to help us wherever we needed.
Eduardo Wansbrough, La Nonna Food Group Limited

The end result of a project carried out by Egg is always to the very highest standard. The quality of finish is extremely thorough. As a designer, this is imperative to ensure the client is satisfied with the end result. This seems to be a philosophy of Egg Limited as all their processes, methods of working and approach to each project aims to ensure the project is delivered on time and beyond their client’s expectations.
Ros Wilson, Owner and Creative Director of Roselind Wilson Design
Brilliant. EGG made it look so easy & seamless but that is only because they knew what they were doing. Brilliant team a pleasure to work with them.
John Brandler, Director & Founder at TheSAM & Brandler galleries
We have been working with Egg Limited for just over a year, and have been impressed with the exceptional level of quality they have delivered on our programme of office refurbishments. They have helped redesign and refit over six of our largest and most prestigious offices, on tight timescales, and with a collaborative relationship and great attention to detail, meaning we have never missed a handover, whilst operating within agreed budgets and completing with zero snags. The whole team, from design through to handover have been a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to continuing our relationship on future projects, in the UK and beyond.
