Inspiration Healthcare is a global supplier of medical technology for critical care, operating theatre and home healthcare applications. They acquired these 3 industrial units during late 2021 and set about exploring fitout solutions for an ambitious design and build programme.

The brief received was for a new state-of-the-art manufacturing and technology centre to strengthen Inspiration Healthcare’s research and development capabilities whilst minimising the impact of the facility on the environment.

Egg Group successfully secured the project by impressing Inspiration Healthcare with the ability to provide an innovative total solution and to step in promptly. Due to time pressure Egg developed an enabling works package to get a team immediately on site to set up and construct the mezzanine structures. The outline design was developed simultaneously to ensure a continuation of work on site and the subsequent design continued as we built, to maintain efficient progress. Streamlined communications and the cooperation between Client and Contractor was key to the success of this fast track project.

Beyond the challenge of the programme and evolving design; the fire strategy and  complex services coordination, including oxygen, power management and solar thermal resource required careful consideration and diligent implementation.

To ensure Inspiration Healthcare’s lease commitments were complied with on the properties they were exiting, Egg structured a partial occupation and practical completion plan. Egg scheduled double shifts to include a twilight shift accordingly.
